1971: Queen appeared at Surrey College, England. This was the group's first gig with the line-up of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon.

1979: Neil Young released the album Rust Never Sleeps.

1980: Led Zeppelin performed in Germany at Eissporthalle. Led Zeppelin was touring in support of their eighth studio album: In Through The Out Door.

1981: Foreigner released their fourth album " 4 ".

1984: Dio released their second studio album "The Last In Line".It is the first Dio album to feature former Rough Cutt keyboardist Claude Schnell.The album, along with Holy Diver and Sacred Heart, was released in a new 2-CD Deluxe Edition on March 19, 2012 through Universal for worldwide distribution outside the U.S. In 2005, The Last In Line was ranked number 372 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.In 1984 it peaked at #4 at U.K. Albums chart.

1986: Metallica released in France only the single "Master Of Puppets", from the band's third studio album of the same name. It was also issued as a promo single in the US by Elektra records."Master of Puppets" is the band's most played song of all time, first played on December 31, 1985 at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for a crowd of 7,000.

1987: The third studio album, Among The Living, from the great ANTHRAX was ranked at #72, on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart.

1988: Overkill released their third studio album "Under The Influence" through Megaforce Records.This was Overkill's first album to feature drummer Sid Falck, who had replaced Rat Skates when the latter left the band in 1987 during the Taking Over tour.

1991: Axl Rose caused a riot to break out during a Guns N' Roses gig after leaping into the crowd to remove a camera from a fan at the Riverpoint Amphitheatre, Maryland Heights.

1991: Alice Cooper released his 19th album "Hey Stoopid".After his smash 1989 hit album Trash, Cooper attempted to continue his success with his follow-up album, which features guest performances from Slash (then still a member of Guns N' Roses), Ozzy Osbourne, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars (both of Mötley Crüe). Hey Stoopid was the last music album to feature bassist Hugh McDonald before he joined Bon Jovi as their unofficial bassist in 1995.

1999: R.E.M. Skunk Anansie, Barenaked Ladies, Blur, Blondie, Built To Spill, The Chemical Brothers, Marilyn Manson, Metallica, Placebo, Suede and Wilco all appeared at this years Oskilde Festival, Roskilde, Denmark.

2001: Liverpool Airport at Speke was renamed John Lennon Airport. Yoko Ono was present to unveil a new logo that included the late Beatle's famous self- portrait and the words, 'Above Us Only Sky' taken from his 'Imagine' album.

2012: Iron Maiden performed at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

2013: Huntress released their second studio album "Starbound Beast".All songs written and composed by Huntress,except "I Want to Fuck You to Death" ,lyrics written by Lemmy and "Running Wild" which is Judas Priest cover.

1949: Roy Bittan, "The Professor", piano, organ, accordion and synthesizers with Bruce Springsteen E Street Band, (1984 US No.2 & 1985 UK No.4 single 'Dancing In The Dark'). Also worked with David Bowie, Jackson Browne, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Meat Loaf, Stevie Nicks, Bob Seger.

1950: Duncan Mackay, keyboards, Cockney Rebel, (1975 UK No.1 single 'Make Me Smile, Come Up And See Me').

1974: Rocky Gray, drummer, Evanescence, (2003 UK No.1 & US No.5 single ‘Bring Me To Life’, 2003 UK No.1 & US No.3 album ‘Fallen’). Also a member of Living Sacrifice and Soul Embraced.

1983: Daron Malakian, guitar System of a Down, (2001 US No.1 & UK No.13 album ‘Toxicity’, 2005 US No.1 & UK No.2 album 'Mezmerize’).
