1950: Vocalist/guitarist Andy Fairweather Low (of Amen Corner) is born in Ystrad Mynach, Wales, United Kingdom. Also sang backing vocal's for The Who's Who Are You.

1961: Rikki Rocket (drummer for Poison) is born Richard Allan Ream in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

- David Evans is born in East London. He later becomes The Edge as a member of U2.

1964: Another Side of Bob Dylan is the fourth studio album by American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan, released on August 8, 1964, by Columbia Records.


1966: The Beatles release "Eleanor Rigby" on a double A-side single with "Yellow Submarine."The Beatles release Revolver, which contains the psychedelic "Tomorrow Never Knows" and the bitter "Taxman."

1969: The Beatles record "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and "The End."

Resurrection

2000: Resurrection is the debut album by the band Halford released in 2000. It was recorded over thousands of hours of work from August 1998 to June 2000. The album marks the return of Rob Halford's heavy metal roots after several years of musical experimentation. In 2006, Resurrection was remastered and released with an expanded , reorganized track list on iTunes, and was later released on CD in 2009. The album features "The One You Love to Hate," a duet with Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. "Silent Screams" is a re-recorded song that was originally demoed by Halford's previous band 2wo.

2007: Amy Winehouse overdoses on a mixture of alcohol, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and ketamine after a London pub crawl. Her hospitalization causes the cancellation of her first US tour. The singer refused her record company's request to enter rehab for alcohol abuse, inspiring her hit record "Rehab." She does eventually end up in a clinic, but never gets sober for good.
