1941: Sam Andrew, Janis Joplin Band, (1971 US No.1 single 'Me And Bobby McGee', 1971 US No.1 single 'Pearl'). Andrew was also Music Director of the musical Love, Janis, based on the life of Janis Joplin. He died on February 12, 2015, following complications from open-heart surgery due to a heart attack suffered ten weeks prior.
1943: Keith Richards, 'The Human Riff' ,guitarist of the Rolling Stones, was born in Dartford, England.
1950: Randy Castillo former drummer with MotleyCrue Lita Ford and Ozzy Osbourne
1953: Elliot Easton, lead guitarist of the Cars, was born in Brooklyn, New York.
1954: Uli Jon Roth former guitarist with Scorpions
1962: On their fifth visit to West Germany The Beatles played the first night of a two-week engagement at the Star-Club, Hamburg. A 13 night run, playing 3 hours each night. The final night's performance was recorded and became known as The Star-Club Tapes, released in 1977 against the wishes of the ex-Beatles themselves.
1966: Mille Petrozza singer and guitarist with Kreator
1966: Pink Floyd performed at the Blarney Club in London. A week later, the business changed its name to the UFO Club and Pink Floyd signed a deal to become the house band.
1968: Janis Joplin held auditions for her Kozmic Blues Band in San Francisco, California.
1970: Roman Glick bassist with Jackyl.
1975: During a press conference in London, Rod Stewart announced his departure from The Faces, due to Ron Wood joining The Rolling Stones & Stewart thinking he was better off as a solo artist.
1976: Tomasz Halicki, was born. He is a Polish musician and singer. Halicki has played with such bands as Stygmat, Via Mistica, Diseased, and Dead Infection. He currently plays in Abused Majesty,Hermh, Evil Machine and Vader.

1977: RUSH performed at the University Of Dayton Arena, in Dayton, Ohio. RUSH were touring in support of their fifth studio album: A Farewell To Kings.
1978: Led Zeppelin finished recording what would prove to be their final album, In Through the Out Door.
1986: Bon Jovi's single "Livin' on a prayer" hit no. 4 on the United Kingdom charts. The song was featured on Bon Jovi's 1986 album "Slippery when wet". The track was also Bon Jovi's first hit ever to reach no. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
2003: Audioslave’s Tom Morello and System of a Down’s Serj Tankian organized a benefit concert for striking grocery workers in LA. Among the performers were Flea and Corey Taylor.
2015: The Kinks' Ray and Dave Davies performed together for the first time in twenty years when Ray joined his brother on stage at London's Islington Assembly Hall. The pair performed their 1964 smash "You Really Got Me" and re-ignited hope that the Davies brothers would put aside their years of bickering and animosity and reform the band.
2020: Paul McCartney releases McCartney III. He's a one-man band on the album, playing all the instruments and writing all the songs, which he also did on the prequels, McCartney in 1970 and McCartney II in 1980.
