1951: Born on this day, Steve Harley, singer, Cockney Rebel, (1975 UK No.1 single ‘Make Me Smile, Come Up And See Me’).


Neal Schon

1954: Neal Schon, elite guitarist with Santana and Journey .












Adrian Smith

1957: Adrian Smith, elite guitarist of Iron Maiden, was born in Hackney, East London.


Johnny Van Zant

1959: Johnny Van Zant is born in Jacksonville, Flordia. He performs and records with the Johnny Van Zant Band and as a solo artist, but is best known for succeeding his deceased brother Ronnie Van Zant as frontman for Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1987.

1961: Del Shannon released the single "Runaway" on Big Top Records.

1967: Pink Floyd record their first single, "Arnold Layne", which will top the UK charts but won't crack the Hot 100 in the US.


1971: Pearl moved to #1 on the Album chart by the late Janis Joplin.

1978: Jefferson Starship released the single "Count on Me".


The Gray Race

1996: Bad Religion release their ninth full-length studio album, The Gray Race. This is the first Bad Religion album to feature Brian Baker on guitar, replacing Brett Gurewitz, who left the band two years earlier.

2001: Carlos Santana was given the key to his hometown of Autlan, Mexico in quite a celebration. The street Avenue Carlos Santana was named after him, and a statue was unveiled as well.


No Line on the Horizon

2009: No Line on the Horizon is the twelfth studio album by Irish rock band U2. It was produced by Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, and Steve Lillywhite, and was released on 27 February 2009. It was the band's first record since How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (2004),

2013: 70-year-old Richard Street, who sang with The Tempataions for 25 years starting in the early '70s, passed away of a pulmonary embolism.

2016: The eleventh studio album, For All Kings, from ANTHRAX is ranked at #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart.
