1967: The Beatles record "Good Morning Good Morning."
1968: The Beatles record "The Inner Light."
1969: Eric Clapton, Ginger Bakerand Steve Winwoodannounced the formation of a new group. With the addition of Family’s Rich Grech on bass, the quartet became Blind Faith.
1975: Bob Dylan went to No.1 on the US chart with his 15th studio album Blood On The Tracks

1980: Cameron Muncey, guitarist from Australian rock band Jet,was born in Belbourn, Victoria.
1981: R.E.M. made their first ever-recording sessions at Bombay Studios Smyrna, Georgia. Tracks included 'Gardening At Night', 'Radio Free Europe' and '(Don't Go Back To) Rockville.'
1985: Jeremy Davis, bassist with US band Paramore, was born in Little Rock, Arkansas.
1988: W.A.S.P. released the single "I f*** like a beast"
1988: The three remaining members of The Who reunite at Royal Albert Hall for the British Phonographic Industry awards, leading to a full-fledged 25th anniversary tour the next year.
1989: Anthrax earn their first Gold album when their fourth album, State of Euphoria, is certified for sales of 500,000 copies.
1990: Del Shannon, struggling with depression, commits suicide at age 55.

2005: American rock drummer, vocalist, and songwriter Keith Knudson from with The Doobie Brothers died of pneumonia aged 56. The Doobie Brothers scored the 1979 US No.1 single 'What A Fool Believes' and 1993 UK No.7 single 'Long Train Runnin.' He founded the band Southern Pacific with fellow Doobie Brother John McFee.
2006: David Bowie is awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
2006: U2 were the big winners at the Grammys, taking home five trophies including the ones for Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year for "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb". They also won Best Rock Song for “City of Blinding Lights,” as well as Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group and Song of the Year for “Sometimes You Can’t Make It on Your Own.”
