1944: Supertramp vocalist/keyboard player Rick Davies, is born in Swindon, Wiltshire, England.
1947: Don Henley, founder, drummer, elite songwriter and co-lead singer of the Eagles, and a solo star, was born in Gilmer, Texas.
1963: The Beatles first US album, Introducing The Beatles was pressed by Vee-Jay Records, who thought they had obtained the legal rights from EMI affiliate, Trans-Global Records.
1968: The Byrds release Sweetheart Of The Rodeo.
1971: The Doors' L.A. Woman album is certified Gold.
1972: The Who release "Join Together", first released as a non-album single in May 1972. The song has since been performed live multiple times and has appeared on numerous compilation albums. It is also notable for its roots in The Who's abandoned Lifehouse album, a quality shared by The Who's other 1972 single "Relay".
1973: David Bowie released the single 'Life On Mars', which peaked at No.3 on the UK chart. The track which was first released in 1971 on the album Hunky Dory, features guest piano work by Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman.
- Daniel Jones (instrumentalist of Savage Garden) is born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England, but will be raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
1978: The album Some Girls by the Rolling Stones topped the chart
2003: KISS released the album "Symphony: Alive IV."
2006: Johnny Cash was at No.1 on the US album chart with ‘American V: A Hundred Highways.’ Released posthumously on July 4, the vocal parts were recorded before Cash's death, but the instruments were not recorded until 2005.
2008: Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor foots the bill for the band's seventh studio album, The Slip, which is released digitally on their website for free with the tag, "This one's on me."
2016: On their Freedom To Rock Tour, KISS perform at the Pinnacle Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska.
IRON MAIDEN performed at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago, near Milan, Italy.
