Nick Simper

1945: Nick Simper, bassist for Deep Purple, was born in Norwood Green, Southall, Middlesex, England.

1963:The last night of a 30 date UK tour featuring The Everly Brothers, Bo Diddley, The Rolling Stones, Mickie Most and The Flintstones took place at The Hammersmith Odeon, London. All the acts had played two shows every night.

1965: The hard-working Beatles recorded "Michelle" from 2:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the EMI Studios on Abbey Road in London.


Harum Scarum

1965: Elvis Presley releases Harum Scarum. 1967: The Beatles completed work on the movie Magical Mystery Tour, filming at drummer Ringo Starr's house in Weybridge, Surrey, England.

1973: Mick Thomson was born in Iowa. Mick Thomson, aka Number Seven, is a co-founding member and guitarist of the ferocious Slipknot. Slipknot’s fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, was released on October 21st, 2014, via RoadRunner Records and has already reached #1 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

1973: Goats Head Soup by the Rolling Stones was the #1 album .


1975: Sweet released their single "Fox On The Run" in the U.S.

1980: Neil Young releases his 10th studio album, Hawks & Doves.

1984: The super-legendary Iron Maiden were in the midst of their World Slavery Tour, promoting their fifth studio album: Powerlsave. On November 3rd, 1984, Iron Maiden performed in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the Scandinavium. Iron Maiden’s special guest was none other than… Mötley Crüe.

1984: Purple Rain by Prince was the #1 album for the 14th week.


Done With Mirrors

1985:The newly re-formed Aerosmith release ‘Done With Mirrors’, prompting one die-hard Aerosmith fan to review it as “done with music”.

1987: Animal House is the first album by German heavy metal band U.D.O., following Udo Dirkschneider's departure from Accept. It was recorded from August to October 1987 at Dierks Studios in Cologne. Released in 1987, it charted at No. 41 in Sweden.The performance of the song "Lay Down the Law" is credited to Accept and U.D.O. The 'Pulheimer Kinder- und Jugendchor' contribute vocals to "They Want War".

1990: Warrant hits #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with Cherry Pie. The second studio album from Warrant,Cherry Pie would peak at #7 on The Billboard 200 Albums Chart in 1990.Cherry Pie was produced by Beau Hill and features the late Jani Laneon lead vocals.


Keep the Faith

1992: Bon Jovi released their first album in five years--Keep the Faith.The album produced three Top 40 hits: 'Keep The Faith', 'Bed of Roses' and 'In These Arms'.

1998: U2 released their compilation album The Best of 1980-1990.

1998: The John Lennon boxed set Anthology was released in the United States. It had been released the day before in the U.K.

2002: Santana's Shaman led the way on the U.S. Album chart.

2003: Aerosmith appeared with Hank Williams Jr. to perform All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight, live on Monday Night Football.

2004: Eric Clapton is made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) by Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace.

2005: At the MTV Europe Music Awards, Green Day took home the trophies for Best Rock Act and Best Album for American Idiot, System of a Down won for Best Alternative Act and Coldplay won Best UK Act and Best Song for “Speed of Sound.”


World Painted Blood

2009: World Painted Blood is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Slayer. It was released through American Recordings and Sony Music onand was produced by Greg Fidelman and executively produced by Rick Rubin.It is the band's only album produced by Greg Fidelman and the last with guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

2015: The second studio album, Toxicity, from SYSTEM OF A DOWN is ranked at #1, on the iTunes Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums Chart.
