1949: Garry Tallent (bass player for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band) is born in Detroit, Michigan. 1949: Byron Allred (keyboardist for The Steve Miller Band) is born in Logan, Utah.
1951: Kenneth "K.K." Downing (guitarist for Judas Priest) is born in West Bromwich, England.
1962: The Rolling Stones record their first demos in London at Curly Clayton Studios, recording covers of songs by Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed and Bo Diddley. The demos get little interest when they shop them to record companies.
1963: The Beatles performed three concerts at the Cirkus in Gothenburg, Sweden.
1967: Scott Weiland, lyricist and vocalist of Velvet Revolver,Art of anarchy and the Stone Temple Pilots, was born in Santa Cruz, California.
1969: After the album Abbey Road was finished, Ringo Starr, drummer of the Beatles, began recording a solo album Sentimental Journey, becoming the first Fab Four member to do so.

1988: After 232 shows, Def Leppard finished its highly successful Hysteria Tour at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.
1999: KoRn debut their new song "Falling Away From Me" on the season premiere of South Park, "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery." The animated version of the band appears in the episode.
2002: The Foo Fighters had their first No. 1 album in the UK when One By One topped the charts overseas.
2013: Velvet Underground singer Lou Reed died at the age of 71 from liver disease.
