1946: Drummer Chris Slade (of Uriah Heep, AC/DC, Manfred Mann) is born Christopher Rees in Pontypridd, Glamorgan, Wales.
1947: Timothy B. Schmit (bass guitarist for Eagles, Poco) is born in Oakland, California.
1949: David Green, bassist of Air Supply, was born in Melbourne, Australia.
1960: Joey BellaDonna (vocalist for Anthrax) is born Joseph Bellardini in Oswego, New York.
1964: Roy Orbison is awarded his ninth Gold record for "Oh! Pretty Woman", which topped the charts in ten countries, including the US, Canada and the UK, selling over seven million copies worldwide.
1965: Gavin Rossdale (Bush frontman) is born in London, England.
1968: Marvin Gaye released the single "I Heard It Through The Grapevine".

1985: MTV premieres the music video “” by Artists United Against Apartheid. Artists United Against Apartheid was a protest group of world-famous musicians, founded by activist and guitarist Steven Van Zandt, aka Little Steven, along with record producer Arthur Baker. The mission was to protest apartheid in South Africa.
1985: Anthrax-Spreading the Disease, their second studio album. It was the band's first album to feature vocalist Joey Belladonna and bassist Frank Bello. A special two-disc edition of the album was released in 2015, celebrating its 30th anniversary
