1967: The Who performed on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. But that's just part of the story. Drummer Keith Moon rigged his drum set to explode at the conclusion of "My Generation", which he did for every show during the period. Only this time, the jokester rigged several times the normal amount of explosives, and didn't tell the rest of the group. The result of the stunt was a massive explosion on stage.

1974: Bob Dylan records "Shelter From the Storm" and "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go."
1975: Scorpions released their third record, In Trance. Although it failed to chart, it would in time be regarded as one of their best.
1979: Unleashed in the East is the first live album by the British heavy metal band Judas Priest, released this day in 1979 on Columbia Records. It was recorded live over two nights in Tokyo during their Hell Bent for Leather Tour in February 1979. Upon release Unleashed became the band's best-selling album up to that point, reaching the US Top 100 and the UK Top Ten,
1979: Chuck Comeau, drummer of Simple Plan, was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
1988: Hysteria sent a sixth week at #1 on the Album chart for Def Leppard.
1991: Guns N' Roses released the albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II.Use Your Illusion I and I, is their fourth studio album.Both albums were released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour. Bolstered by the lead single "You Could Be Mine", Use Your Illusion II was the slightly more popular of the two albums
1991: No More Tears is the sixth solo studio album by English heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne. Released on 17 September 1991, the album charted at number 17 on the UK Albums Chartand number seven on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.No More Tears spawned four singles which reached the top ten of the US Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, including the number two "Mama, I'm Coming Home",and the Grammy-winning track "I Don't Want to Change the World".
2003: David Lee Roth tried to be cute on stage at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania and it cost him. He attempted a 15th-century samurai move and the microphone stand he was using swung around and him in the face.
