David Coverdale

1951: David Coverdale is born in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Redcar and Cleveland, England. After fronting Deep Purple from 1973-1976, he forms his own band, Whitesnake, in 1978.


Joan Jett (Joan Marie Larkin)

1958: Joan Jett is born(Joan Marie Larkin).She is an American rock singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer, and occasional actress. Jett is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". The Blackhearts' version of the song "I Love Rock 'n Roll" was number-one on the BillboardHot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Jett's other notable hit songs include "Bad Reputation", "Crimson and Clover", "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)", "Light of Day", "I Hate Myself for Loving You" and "Dirty Deeds".

1962: Bob Dylan made his first appearance at Carnegie Hall.

1972: David Bowie began his first U.S. tour with the Spiders from Mars.

Extra texture

1975: George Harrison released " Extra texture", his sixth studio album.

1992: Bruce Springsteen records a concert for MTV Unplugged, but plugs in after the first song and does the rest of the set electric. When the episode airs on November 11, it's billed as "MTV Plugged."

Psycho-Circus

1998: The album "Psycho-Circus" by KISS was released. It is their eighteenth studio album and the first to involve all four original members since 1979's Dynasty (though guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss only appear on a select few tracks)

1998: White Zombie calls it a night. Bassist Sean Yseult confirms that the 13-year-old hard rock group has decided to break up.

2002: Sting receives an Emmy for his A&E documentary Sting in Tuscany: All This Time. He dedicates his award to his "dear late friend Timothy White."
