Jordan Rudess

1956: Jordan Rudess (born Jordan Charles Rudes, is an American keyboardist and composer best known as a member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater and the progressive metal supergroupLiquid Tension Experiment.

1956: James Honeyman-Scott (lead guitarist for The Pretenders) is born in Hereford, Herefordshire, England.

1961: Bob Dylan made his Carnegie Chapter Hall debut in New York City. The show was seen by 50 people who paid two dollars each at Carnegie Hall.

1963: The night after The Rolling Stones had just come off a 30-date UK tour with The Everly Brothers, they kicked off another 50-date UK club tour at the Top Rank Ballroom in Preston.

1965: The Rolling Stones were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Get Off Of My Cloud', also a No.1 in the US.


Jeff Scott Soto

1965: Jeff Scott Soto is a lead vocalist, musician, songwriter and lyricist. Besides his successful solo music career, Jeff’s extensive and impressive resume boasts many prominent artists and/or bands he has sung for: Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Axel Rudi Pell, Talisman, W.E.T., Takara and Trans-Siberian Orchestra

1968: Pink Floyd recorded "Point me to the Sky" and "Careful with that axe Eugene".

1968: William Troy McLawhorn is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer who has been a guitarist, backing vocalist, and songwriting partner in the bands Evanescence, Seether, Dark New Day, doubleDrive, Still Rain, and Gibraltar. 1970: Bob Dylan recorded the song "George Jackson." Jackson was a black militant what had been killed in a California prison shootout.


The Man Who Sold the World.

1970: David Bowie released his third album, The Man Who Sold the World.

1971: The Who opened up The Rainbow Finsbury Park, London, England appearing on the first of three nights. 1973: Soft Machine and Pink Floyd held a benefit concert for Robert Wyatt who had been paralyzed earlier in the year.

1977: Krokus released the album “To You All”

1980: REO Speedwagon released what would prove to be their breakthrough single--"Keep On Loving You".

1981: Mob Rules is the tenth studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath. It followed 1980's Heaven and Hell, it was the second album to feature lead singer Ronnie James Dio and the first with drummer Vinny Appice. Neither musician would appear on a Black Sabbath studio album again until the 1992 album Dehumanizer

1984: The UK’s Hawkwind released their live album:This Is Hawkwind, Do Not Panic. This live release contained a 12″ full LP and a 12″ EP.

1985: Aerosmith released the album "Done With Mirrors"

1987: U2 were on the front cover of UK pop magazine 'Smash Hits', which also had features on the Pet Shop Boys, Wet Wet Wet, T'Pau, Sting and Black. Reviewed in the new singles page The Smiths 'I Started Something I Couldn't Finish

1988: The U2 concert movie "Rattle and Hum" opened in the U.S. and the U.K. It opened in Ireland on October 27.

1989: Aerosmith peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart with Pump. This was their second top ten album in the United States. Aerosmith went on to sell seven million copies of Pump, in the United States.



1989: Roxette reached #1 with "Listen To Your Heart".

1991: Bobby "Blue" Bland, Booker T. & The M.G.s, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, The Isley Brothers, Sam & Dave and The Yardbirds were all elected to the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

1993: Depeche Mode's Martin Gore was arrested at the Denver Westin Hotel after refusing to turn down the volume of his music in his room.


Fred "Sonic" Smith

1994: Fred "Sonic" Smith, guitarist of MC5 and husband of Patti Smith ("Because The Night from 1978), died of a heart attack in Detroit, Michigan at age 45.

1998: Oasis singer Liam Gallagher was arrested after an alleged drunken brawl with photographer Mel Bouzac at a London pub. Bouzac had been tipped off that Liam was in the pub wearing a Russian hat and attempted to take photos.

2010: In Santa Monica, CA, Metallica headlined the launch event for Activision's "Call of Duty: Black Ops" video game at Hanger 8.

2013: Janis Joplin was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

2016: HammerFall released the album "Built To Last"
