1946: Carmine Appice was born in New York. As drummer for Vanilla Fudge, Carmine Appice set the grooves for the groundbreaking bands 1967 psychedelic debut, inadvertently inventing Stoner Rock in the process. The Fudge had no precedent. The band was totally unique. No rock group, up until that point, had ever so lugubriously s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out well-known pop tunes like the Beatles . One of the premier showmen in rock, Appice became known worldwide for his astonishing live performances, in addition to becoming a highly sought-after session drummer, recording with countless artists throughout his career.

1964: The Beatles released the album Beatles '65.Beatles '65 is an album by the English rock band the Beatles that was issued in the United States and Canada in December 1964. Released as the North American alternative to Beatles for Sale, it was the band's fifth studio album culled by Capitol Records in the US from the Beatles' EMI releases. The LP was also issued in West Germany on the Odeon label.
1967: The Beatles ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ LP goes gold
1969: John Lennon played what would be his final ever gig in the UK when he appeared at The Lyceum Ballroom, London, with the Plastic Ono Band in a UNICEF 'Peace For Christmas' benefit. George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Delaney and Bonnie, Billy Preston and The Who's drummer, Keith Moon also took part.
1969: The Guess Who released their single "No Time".
1973: Genesis debut on US chart with ‘Selling England by the Pound’
1973: Aerosmith made their first appearance on American Bandstand. Aerosmith performed their hit power ballad Dream On.
1977: The Who perform a secret concert for their fan club members. Footage of the concert appears in Jeff Stein’s movie, The Kids Are Alright’
1977: The Sex Pistols were refused entry into the USA two days before a scheduled NBC TV appearance. Johnny Rotten because of a drugs conviction, Paul Cook & Sid Vicious because of 'moral turpitude' and Steve Jones because of his criminal record.
1978: Heart hits #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles Chart with their song: Straight On. This hit is featured on Heart’s fourth studio album from 1978: Dog & Butterfly.
1979: U2 appeared at the Windsor Castle Pub, Harrow Road, London, admission was free.
1979: Pink Floyd: ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ was at top position at UK 45
1980: Sergio Pizzorno, (Sergio Lorenzo "Serge" Pizzorno) guitar, vocals, Kasabian, (2005 UK No.8 single 'Cutt Off', 2006 UK No.1 album Empire).
1986: At the Oakland Coliseum Arena, the Grateful Dead play their first concert since frontman Jerry Garcia slipped into a diabetic coma six months earlier.
2008: Metallica , "All Nightmare Long" released as their fifth single from their ninth album Death Magnetic.
