1959: Geoff Tate (lead singer for Queensryche) is born in Stuttgart, West Germany.
1961: MikeTramp singer with White Lion.
1963: Charlie Watts made his live debut with The Rolling Stones at The Flamingo Jazz Club, Soho, London. Before joining the Stones, Watts played regularly with Blues Incorporated.
1966: Marco Hietala vocalist and bassist with Nightwish.
1966: David Jones changed his name to David Bowie to avoid confusion with Davy Jones from The Monkees, just in time for the release of his single, 'Can't Help Thinking About Me'. He would later say that he chose "Bowie" because he liked that "big American bear-killin' knife."
1967: Over 25-thousand people attended one of the first ever major, outdoor rock concerts. It was called the Human Be-In: A Gathering of the Tribes and took place at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park where Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead and Big Brother and the Holding Company were among the performers.
1967: Zakk Wylde,was born in Bayonne, New Jersey. Zachary Phillip Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt; January 14, 1967) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is best known for his tenure as the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and as the founder, lead guitarist, and lead singer of the heavy metal band Black Label Society. His signature bulls-eye design appears on many of his guitars and is widely recognized. He was also the lead guitarist and vocalist of Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist, he released the albums Book of Shadows and Book of Shadows II.

He rose to fame as the drummer for the grunge band Nirvana and then became the founder, lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the alternative rock band Foo Fighters. He is also the drummer and co-founder of the rock supergroup Them Crooked Vultures and had short-lived side projects called Late! and Probot. Grohl has also recorded and toured with Queens of the Stone Age.
1978: The Sex Pistols played their last show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco where Johnny Rotten yelled to the crowd at the outset, “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated.” It was the last time the band played with bassist Sid Vicious.

2000: Marty Friedman played his last concert with Megadeth.
2010: Guitarist Jimmy Page was honored with the United Nations' first ever Pathways To Peace Award. Pathways To Peace is an international peace building, educational and consulting organization which has consultative status with the United Nations.
