1964: Grant Young (drummer for Soul Asylum) is born in Iowa City, Iowa.
1968: Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits" goes Gold just nine months after its release.
1969: CCR released the album Bayou Country.
1973: Bruce Springsteen released his debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
1973: Aerosmith released their GREAT debut album "Aerosmith" The album peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200 in 1976.
1974: The Carpenters' compilation album The Singles 1969-1973 hits #1.
1974: Jim Croce remained at #1 with "Time In A Bottle", one of The Top 500 Songs of the Rock Era.
1978: The Sex Pistols' U.S. concert debut took place.
1979: Prince made his live debut in a club in Minneapolis.
1991: Iron Maiden topped the UK singles chart with "Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter". The second single from their album No Prayer for the Dying. However, with sales of only 42,000 copies during its first week, the record became the lowest selling UK number one in over thirty years.
2004: Jim Croce of The Kinks is shot in the leg when he pursues two men who snatched his girlfriend's purse. He sings about it on his 2018 track "The Big Guy."
2016: Guns N' Roses confirm that Slash and Duff McKagan, who have not performed with the band since 1993, will join them for their headline set at Coachella. They later announce a full tour with Slash and McKagan.
