Kenny Loggins

1948: Kenny Loggins was born in Everett, Washington.

1954: Muddy Waters records "Hoochie Coochie Man."

1955: "Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Haley & the Comets debuted on the U.K. chart.

1967: The Monkees continued at #1 into the New Year with "I'm A Believer".










Paranoid

1971: Black Sabbath released Paranoid, their second studio album. The album features the band’s best-known signature songs, including the title track, “Iron Man” and “War Pigs.” The album was originally titled War Pigs, but allegedly the record company changed it to Paranoid, fearing backlash from supporters of the ongoing Vietnam War.

The Def Leppard E.P.

1979: The Def Leppard E.P. is the debut EP by English rock band Def Leppard. The EP was recorded at Fairview Studios in Hull, in November 1978 and self-produced by the band. The EP's cover is a parody of the painting His Master's Voice, with a leopard in place of the painting's dog, Nipper. The record was first released with the code SRT CUS 232 and a red label by the band's own company Bludgeon-Riffola.

1980: Pink Floyd released Another Brick In The Wall, (Part 2) in the US. The single peaked at number one on both the US and UK charts, giving Pink Floyd their first and only chart topping single. The single went to the first position in many other countries, including Australia, Germany and Italy.

1980: Ivan Moody (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH)

1981: Eagles Live is certified Platinum; it is 13 years until the next Eagles album is released.


1989: Poison had a #1 song for the third week with "Every Rose Has Its Thorn".


1992: Eric Clapton released the single "Tears In Heaven".

1994: Oasis started recording their debut album Definitely Maybe, at Monrow studios in South Wales. When released in August 1994, it became the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK.

2008: The Eagles album Long Road Out of Eden was certified as having sold seven million copies in the U.S. alone.

2020: Rush drummer/lyricist Neil Peart dies of brain cancer at 67.
