1952: Alec John Such, bassist of Bon Jovi, was born in Yonkers, New York.(1987 US No.1 & UK No.4 single 'Livin' On A Prayer', 1986 US No.1 album 'Slippery When Wet' has sold over 8 million copies world wide).

1962: Bob Dylan records " Don't Think Twice, It's All Right "

1967: Pink Floyd were added to a 16-date UK tour with Jimi Hendrix, The Move, The Nice, Amen Corner, The Outer Limits and The Eire Apparent. It kicked off at the Royal Albert Hall, London. The headlining Hendrix was allotted exactly 40 minutes; The Move, who preceded him onstage, had just half an hour, and Pink Floyd, who appeared between after The Outer Limits, were allowed between 15 and 20 minutes per show.

1967: The Jimi Hendrix Experience, (The) Pink Floyd, The Move and (The) Amen Corner kicked off a U.K. tour at Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

1969: David Bowie ‘Space Oddity’ LP released

1969: Led Zeppelin begin recording their third album at Olympia Studios, kicking off with a run-through of “Since I’ve Been Loving You.” Robert Plant says, “If bootleg record-makers got it together properly instead of waving those evil mikes on the end of broomsticks, this is the kind of sound they would get at a Led Zeppelin live concert.”


1970: Santana's version of "Black Magic Woman" is released in the US, where it will rise to #4 during a three month chart run. The song was written by Peter Green and first appeared as a Fleetwood Mac single in various countries in 1968.

1971: Slade hits #1 in the UK with their hit single: Coz I Love You.

1975: Queen played the first of two nights at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, England, the first nights on their 78-date A Night At The Opera World Tour.

1977: KISS played the first date on their 51-date Alive II Tour at the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

1980: Saxon released the album "Strong Arm Of The Law" . Strong Arm of The Law is the third studio album by English heavy metal band Saxon. It was release

1981: The Police had their fourth UK No.1 single with 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', a No.3 hit in the US.

1987: Billy Idol peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, with his first compilation album Vital Idol. This album went on to become certified Platinum in the U.S., by the RIAA.

1991: Aerosmith were inducted into the Boston Garden Hall of Fame.

1992: Bon Jovi went to No.1 on the UK album chart with 'Keep The Faith' their fifth studio album and second UK No.1. The album produced six UK Top 20 hit singles, 'Keep The Faith', 'Bed Of Roses', 'In These Arms', 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead', 'I Believe' and 'Dry County'.


Slaughter Of The Soul.

1995: The influential Swedish Melodic Death Metal band, At The Gates, released their fourth studio album: Slaughter Of The Soul.

2000: Rush co-founder, singer and bassistGeddy Lee released his 11 song, debut solo album: My Favourite Headache.

2000: Marilyn Manson's released "Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death)." The cover of the album was banned by several retail chains due to the cover art. The banning chains released an alternate cover. The cover depicts Manson on a crucifix.

2004: U2 went to No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Vertigo', the bands fifth UK No.1, taken from 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'.

2004: Paul McCartney, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Robbie Williams, Keane, Snow Patrol, Travis, The Darkness and others take part in the recording of a new version of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” The highlight of the session is U2’s Bono reprising his immortal line, “Tonight thank God it’s them instead of you.”

2006: Led Zeppelin were inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame by Roger Taylor of Queen. Jimmy Page personally accepted the award in front of a 3,000 strong audience during the 3rd annual induction ceremony which was held at the famed Alexandra Palace in London.

2006: IronMaiden released the single "Different World" . It is the opening track from their 14th studio album, A Matter of Life and Death

2008: Edguy released the album “Tinnitus Sanctus”

2017: Metallica released the single “Spit Out The Bone”. It was released as the fifth single from their tenth studio album, Hardwired.
