Matt Sorum

1960: Matt Sorum was born in Mission Viejo, California, drummer , who was a member of The Cult before joining Guns N' Roses (as Steven Adler's replacement) and then Slash's Snakepit and Velvet Revolver.

1965: David Bowie and the Lower 3rd appeared at The Marquee Club, London, England.

1965: The Kinks, The Who, Georgie Fame & The Blue Fames, The Hollies, Wilson Pickett and The Golden Apples Of The Sun all appeared at the Glad Rag Ball, Empire Pool, London, tickets 30 shillings, ($4.20).

1965: At the Glad Rags Ball in London, the Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey storms off stage in the middle of a set plagued with PA problems. Rumors of a Who breakup spread quickly through London with most of them naming Boz Burrell (King Crimson and Bad Company) as Daltrey's possible replacement.

1971: Justin Chancellor, Peach, Tool, (2001 US No.1 album 'Lateralus').

1973: Led Zeppelin begin recording the demos for their new album, Physical Graffiti, including a new song entitled "Driving to Kashmir."

1976: UK music weekly Sounds made the Sex Pistols debut 45, 'Anarchy In The UK' its single of the week.

1982: Coda is a compilation album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. The album is a collection of unused tracks from various sessions during Led Zeppelin's twelve-year career. It was released on 19 November 1982, almost two years after the group had officially disbanded following the death of drummer John Bonham. The word coda, meaning a passage that ends a musical piece following the main body, was therefore chosen as the title.

1983: Quiet Riot hits #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, with their hit cover version of Cum On Feel the Noise. This song was originally released in 1973 by the legendary Slade and their version hit #1 in the United Kingdom. This song is featured on Quiet Riot’s third studio album from 1983: Metal Health. This multi-platinum selling album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and is regarded as the first Heavy Metal album to reach #1 on the Billboard Chart.

1988: Bon Jovi started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with lead single from the band's album New Jersey, 'Bad Medicine', which became the group's third US No.1, and a No.17 hit in the UK.

Robin Beck was at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'First Time.' The song was from a TV advertisement for Coca-Cola which session singer Beck had recorded. It made the American a One Hit Wonder.

Cinderella hits #12 on the Billboard Hot 100, with their hit Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone). This song is featured on Cinderella’s second studio album from 1986: Long Cold Winter.

Vixen hits #26 on the Billboard Hot 100, with their hit Edge of a Broken Heart. This song is featured on Vixen’s 1988 self-titled debut album. This cool song was written by Richard Marx and Fee Waybill.

1994: Nirvana entered the Billboard 200 Albums Chart at #1 with MTV Unplugged In New York. This album went on to sell five million copies in the United States, alone.

1995:The Beatles released Anthology I

1998: Mötley Crüe opened their retail store S’crue in Los Angeles on Melrose Avenue. Vocalist Vince Neil helped open the front door during the grand-opening, making three huge cuts with a chainsaw. The store would eventually close two months later.

2000: The Beatles started an eleven-week run at No.1 on the UK album chart with 'The Beatles 1'. The album features virtually every number-one single released from 1962 to 1970. Issued on the 30th anniversary of the band's break-up, it was their first compilation available on one CD. The world's best-selling album of the 21st century, 1 has sold over 31 million copies.


Early Days and Latter Days

2002: A combined disc set, called Early Days and Latter Days, was released a dat like today. The Best of Led Zeppelin is a two-volume best-of compilation album series by English rock group Led Zeppelin; containing selections from all of the band's studio albums it was released by Atlantic Records. Volume one, Early Days was released on November 23, 1999; volume two, Latter Days, was released on March 21, 2000. Early Days is composed of tracks from the period in the band's history dating 1968 to 1971 and doesn't use a traditional "greatest hits" format as Led Zeppelin largely avoided single releases. (The band never had a Billboard No. 1 single) Latter Days covered 1973 to 1979. Early Days debuted at #71 on the Billboard's Pop Albums chart and Latter Days debuted at #81. Both Early Days and Early Days and Latter Days were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Goddess In The Doorway

2001: Mick Jagger released his new solo album 'Goddess In The Doorway'. First day sales stood at 954 copies.

2007: Queen guitarist Brian May is named Chancellor of Liverpool's John Moores University.


Persona non grata















2021: Exodus release NEW album “Persona non grata” It is their first studio album since Blood In, Blood Out in 2014, and their second to feature vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza since he returned to the band that same year.This album also features guest appearances from former Exodus guitarist Rick Hunolt, and guitarist Lee Altus' bandmate in Heathen, Kragen Lum, who both provide guitar solos on one of the album's tracks, "Lunatic-Liar-Lord".
