1941: Born on this day, Pete Best, The Beatles drummer, 1960-1962.

1948: Born on this day, Tony Bourge, guitarist, Budgie, (1971 single 'Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman').

1950: Born on this day, Bob Burns, American drummer who was in the original line-up of the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Burns also played on the band's first two official albums: (Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) and Second Helping. He died in a car crash in Georgia late at night after a performance on April 3, 2015.

1955: Clem Burke, drummer of the Ramones and Blondie, was born in New York City.

1964: The Who appeared at The Marquee Club London, England. Between 1964-1968 The Who made 29 appearances at The Marquee.

1964: Born on this day, Tony Rombola, guitarist, Godsmack, (2003, US No.1 album ‘Faceless’, 2006 US No.1 album ‘IV’).

1966: The Beatles got together for the first time since their return from the summer tour of the United States, ready to record a new album. The first song selected for recording was John Lennon's 'Strawberry Fields Forever', which would end up on the album, but on The Beatles' next single. This day's session was devoted entirely to ‘Strawberry Fields Forever.’

1966: Donovan's "Mellow Yellow" was released.

1969: Rolling Stones are awarded gold disc for ‘Let It Bleed’ LP.

1970: Chad Taylor, guitarist of Live, was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

1976: Chicago started a three week run at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'If You Leave Me Now', the American group's only UK No.1. It went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance.

1979: The Eagles topped the Album chart for a fourth week with their great album The Long Run. Styx would peak at #2 with Cornerstone and In Through the Out Door by Led Zeppelin was hanging around at #3.

1988: Tyrant released the album “Ruling the World”. The album is dedicated to Oli Schmid.

Eric Carr (Paul Charles Caravello)

1991: Eric Carr (Paul Charles Caravello) drummer with KISS died aged 41, of complications from cancer in a New York hospital. Carr replaced Peter Criss in 1980 and remained a band member until he became ill in 1991. For his Kiss stage persona, Carr was known as 'The Fox.'

Freddie Mercury

1991: Freddie Mercury died of complications from aids at his home in London's Holland park aged 45, just one day after he publicly admitted he was HIV positive. Mercury was openly bisexual and enjoyed a colourful rock star lifestyle. During his career with Queen he scored over 40 Top 40 UK singles including the worldwide No.1 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.


Shine On

1992: Shine On is a nine-CDbox set by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released through EMI Records in the United Kingdom and Columbia Records in the United States, to coincide with Pink Floyd's 25th anniversary as a recording and touring band. All CDs were digitally remastered.

1994: At the first MTV Europe Music Awardsheld at the Pariser Platz in Berlin, the legendary Aerosmith won the award for Best Rock Band.


Garage Inc.

1998: Garage Inc. is a compilation album of cover songs by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released through Elektra Records.

2003: The original members of Motley Crue reformed for the first time in five years.



2003: Iron Maiden released the single "Rainmaker". It is the second single from their 13th studio album Dance of Death.

2010: Dark Moor released the album “Ancestral Romance”.

2014: Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path is a 3-CD compilation album by the American rock band Soundgarden. The album is a collection of rarities, live tracks, and unreleased material spanning the group's history. It includes previously released songs, such as "Live to Rise", "Black Rain", "Birth Ritual", and others, as well as a newly recorded rendition of a song from the band's pre-Matt Cameron1985 demo, "The Storm", now simply titled "Storm",which was produced by Jack Endino.

2017: Star Blind released the album “Never Seen Again” With their third album "Never Seen Again" STARBLIND convince totally.The musical direction is close to IRON MAIDEN, but of course with their own unique style influences. Since "Dying son" in 2015 some points changed. The most important one is the new vocalist Marcus Sannefjord Olkerud (Ex-Rocka Rollas) who is able to sing with power, epical and speedy.
