1945: Roger Glover, bass, Deep Purple (1970 UK No.2 single 'Black Night'), 1973 US No. 4 single 'Smoke On The Water').As a member of Deep Purple, Glover was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2016.
1955: William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), known professionally as Billy Idol, is an English singer who holds dual British and American citizenship.He first achieved fame in the 1970s emerging from the London punk rock scene as the lead singer of the group Generation X. Subsequently, he embarked on a solo career which led to international recognition and made Idol a lead artist during the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" in the United States. The name "Billy Idol" was inspired by a schoolteacher's description of him as "idle".
1963: The Beatles second album With The Beatles became the first million selling album by a group in the UK. The album stayed at the top of the charts for 21 weeks, displacing Please Please Me, so that The Beatles occupied the top spot for 51 consecutive weeks.
1969: The Monkees made what would be their last live appearance for 15 years when they played at The Oakland Coliseum, California.
1969: David Bowie,The Graham Bond Organisation and Dusty Springfield all performed at a fund raising show in London for youth magazine 'Rave.'
1969: The Rolling Stones played the final night on a 17 date North American tour at the International Raceway Festival, West Palm Beach, Florida. Also appearing, The Moody Blues, Ten Years After, King Crimson, Janis Joplin, The Band, Steppenwolf and Iron Butterfly.
1969: The Monkees appeared in what would be their final live performance in 15 years at the Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California.
1979: Pink Floyd released the double album The Wall.The Wall is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released by Harvest and Columbia Records. It is a rock opera that explores Pink, a jaded rock star whose eventual self-imposed isolation from society forms a figurative wall. The album was a commercial success, topping the US charts for 15 weeks and reaching number three in the UK. It initially received mixed reviews from critics, many of whom found it overblown and pretentious, but later received accolades as one of the greatest albums of all time and one of the band's finest works.

1997: Metallica were at No.1 on the US album chart with ‘Reload’, the bands third US No.1 album.
2003: A block of East 2nd Street in New York City was officially renamed Joey Ramone Place. It is the block where Joey once lived with band mate Dee Dee Ramone and is near the music club CBGB, where the Ramones played their first gigs. In 2010, it was reported that "Joey Ramone Place," was New York City's most stolen sign. As of September 27, the sign has been moved to 20 feet above ground level.
2005: System of a Down held the #1 spot on the Album chart with Hypnotize.
2009: Orgullo, Pasión, y Gloria: Tres Noches en la Ciudad de México (or Orgulho, Paixão e Glória: Três Noites na Cidade do México, in the Portuguese version) (English: Pride, Passion and Glory: Three Nights in Mexico City) is a live video and album by the American heavy metal band Metallica, recorded at Foro Sol, Mexico City, Mexico, on June 4, 6 and 7, 2009, during the World Magnetic Tour. It was supposed to be released in Latin America only, but it is also available in Northern Europe.
2011: Nightwish released the album "Imaginaerum" . The track “Last Ride of the Day” was the official anthem for the Ice Hockey World Championships 2012 in Finland/Sweden.
2018: The Story So Far – The Best Of is a compilation album by the English rock band Def Leppard. The album has a similar track listing to previous compilations, however it is the first to include tracks from the band's recent studio efforts Songs from the Sparkle Lounge (2008) and Def Leppard (2015) as well as all three studio tracks from Mirror Ball – Live & More (2011).The album includes all tracks from their first greatest hits album Vault: Def Leppard Greatest Hits (1980–1995) (1995) with the exception of "Miss You in a Heartbeat".
